Comment:

Lobular downward proliferation of the squamous epithelial cells.
Epidermal cells contain intracytoplasmic basoophilic inclusion bodies called molluscum bodies. The nuclei are pushed to the periphery by the cytoplasmic inclusions.

Comment:
Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a cutaneous infection caused by a large DNA poxvirus, transmitted by direct contact affecting both children and adults.
MC pox virus replicates in the cytoplasm of epidermal cells producing cytoplasmic inclusions and enlargement of infected cells.
